International Virtual Neurofibromatosis (NF) Tumor Board

The International Virtual Neurofibromatosis (NF) Tumor Board is a quarterly meeting, launched in September 2021, to leverage the expertise of dedicated specialists in the Washington University Neurofibromatosis Center to improve the care of individuals with NF worldwide. Dedicated practitioners and consultants include those in Adult and Pediatric Neurosurgery, Adult and Pediatric Oncology, Adult and Pediatric Neurology, Neuropathology, Neuroradiology, and Otolaryngology.

NF comprises a group of genetic disorders that cause people to develop tumors of the nervous system. There are three types of NF: Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), Neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2) and Schwannomatosis (SWN), each caused by mutations in different genes.

The Washington University NF Center was founded in 2004 by Dr. David Gutmann, the Donald O. Schnuck Family Professor in Neurology. NF Center clinicians are devoted to providing exceptional clinical care for individuals with NF, while NF Center researchers are dedicated to advancing our understanding of NF and identifying the treatments of tomorrow.
