International Training

Our training program is a specialized initiative designed to address the needs and challenges faced by physicians who manage pediatric nervous system tumors from different countries around the world.

The training program is committed to addressing the needs of physicians from low and middle-income countries, ensuring that they receive tailored education and support to overcome the challenges specific to their healthcare settings. Through ongoing collaboration, networking, and the provision of accessible resources, the program strives to create a sustainable impact in improving pediatric neuro-oncology care worldwide.

The training program provides structured clinical training and needed skills to manage children and young adults with nervous system tumors, enabling them to deliver high-quality care to children with neuro-oncological conditions, through a multi-modal management and comprehensive interdisciplinary approach.

Key features

Tailored curriculum: The program offers a curriculum specifically designed to address the needs and challenges faced by physicians. The curriculum covers essential topics in pediatric neuro-oncology, including tumor types, diagnosis, treatment modalities, supportive care and palliative care it emphasizes practical and cost-effective approaches suitable for resource-limited settings.

Capacity building: The training program focuses on building the capacity of physicians by enhancing their knowledge and skills in pediatric neuro-oncology. Participants will receive comprehensive training through lectures, case discussions, interactive conferences, and hand-on clinical experience. Participant will also participate in several standing Saint Louis Children’s Hospital conferences, the program will equip physicians with necessary tools to diagnose, manage and provide interdisciplinary case to children with nervous system tumors in their local settings.

Mentorship and collaboration: Participants in the program benefit from mentorship and collaboration with experienced pediatric neuro-oncologists and healthcare professionals from Saint Louis Children’s Hospital. This mentorship provides guidance, support and ongoing consultation, empowering physicians to overcome challenges and make evidence-based treatment decisions. Collaborative networks are formed, facilitating ongoing communication, sharing of expertise and further learning opportunities.

Accessible resources: recognizing the limited availability of resources globally, the training program provides access to relevant educational materials, guidelines and online resources, which could enable physicians to stay updated with the latest research, treatment protocols, and best practices in pediatric neuro-oncology. They also serve as references for ongoing professional development.
